The beach area is the first part of the lake to freeze.

Round Valley does not freeze up usually. I believe over last couple of decades it froze only 4 times. Last time it froze over was 5 years ago.

No trout up at beach area.

Then again with cold front we ben having I just keep my fingers crossed.

it froze 3 winters ago really good (unless memory fails me or maybe 4, one or the other).  I'd say we're way ahead of that year's ice production, but anything can happen.  If it continues as is, it could def freeze :)

actually froze both 3 and 4 winters ago, and def well ahead of both of those winters but we still need more cold and a very calm cold night to set it up. drove by today, just some edge ice in the boat launch cove. last time it froze it was -8° and dead calm the whole lake flash froze in matter of hours, must of had at least a couple inches of cold water below 32° being blown and moved around till the wind died and several inches froze all at once. within 2 or 3 days we were walking out there on solid black ice. and by the end of the week had 8-10". one can only hope the cold returns after this mid jan thaw

Folks were ice fishing on the swimming side this past Friday. Though we've had an early and sustained period of cold for nearly two weeks, the warm up projected for the end of this week and an even longer warm up predicted in the 10-15 day period will make it very difficult for the reservoir to freeze up for ice fishing.

I fished the swimming area yesterday. 6 to 7 inches of ice. A little slow two fish a 22 inch  pickerel and 13 inch perch. Also had three flags for  6 hrs.

Does anyone know if the main portion of the reservoir is skimmed over or if it is still fishable from shore?

There is no good ice on the main body, especially after this weekend. I'll be trying the swim area Sunday.

So the main body is still able to be fished from shore? (Not ice fishing, just casting from shore)

How is the main body of reservoir? Is it ice free so I can do fishing from shore? Anybody with information I will gladly appreciated.
