Title: Wind Jigger
Post by: SirCranksalot on Apr 06, 2017, 05:02 PM
Ok, I must admit I made up this gizmo mostly for S & Gs! It gets a bit boring out there at times. ;D

It was 'inspired' by(if I can use that word) by the windlass tip-up jigger. This one works with a rod, but it just jigs the line/lure up and down. This makes the force req'd much less than moving the rod as well. I used a metal ruler as the upright flexible member. I'm sure you could use some metal strapping as well. It's a bit too flexible so I added the elastics. Since then I just put a paint stick on either side of the metal to stiffen it up. That eliminates the need for the elastics, which are a bit of a PITA with cold fingers.

The sound on the video clip seems to indicate a strong wind, whereas the wind was(in fact) quite light.

Enjoy, and maybe someone will find it useful.
