Spring Lake Crappie Derby Tonight!

This never got posted to the Events page. Spring Lake Izaak Walton is having a Crappie Derby tonight, March 2nd. Registration starts at 3:00 pm .Fishing from 4:00 to 9:00 pm. $20 per fisherman. $5 kids 14 and under. Cash Prizes for 1st & 2nd Place. Food is available.  Spring Lake Izaak Walton 4700 W. 49th Ave. Hobart In.

I just drilled a whole at a pond not too far from there only 3” hard to believe

Small ponds tend to lose ice quicker than the lakes. Example being those 2 guys that went thru a couple days ago
When hell freezes over ill ice fish there too!

I know but this was a lake too probably bigger than spring lake, deep too 30ft,  sorry for that pond reference..idk how but they are there just drove down 65 seen at least 20 shantys and or lights, goes to show how each lake is different ice still baffles me, anyhow i shoulda went dang  :'( :-\

They reported 5 inches of hard ice this morning, as they were giving updates to the event.

I was on another lake with 7-9 inches of hard ice today.
Got one goin'!

Yeah it's crazy how it varies lake to lake but it really does
