I was wondering if the George b Stephens dam is any good for ice fishing.  I remember it wAs drained a few years back.  I’m pretty much just after panfish….I like the fish that eat well.

We have fished Stevenson Dam (Sinnemahoning lake) a few times we typically target trout but I know some guys do ok with pan fish on the lake. The problem with the lake is if there is a moderate to heavy rain event after ice has formed its highly likely that the ice lifts and breaks and makes it unsafe.

I fished it 2 years ago for the first time. So going in blindly we did catch a few small perch. The trout were to finicky for the tip ups, our fat heads were being dropped vs swallowed.

I will fish it again because it was a great place to be for the day.

I have fished at the spillway a few years ago.  It may be worth a try if we get some ice  back.
