That's a tough 1.

You might try Yaktrax XS (extra-small size)...they help on black ice....no good in snow...

I would guess not. That's a pretty small foot. If the bottom of his boot is thick enough, you could try using self tapping screws. I've used them in the past and they work quite well. Just be careful on the length of the screws. Wouldn't want them to poke through the sole.

Agreed, put a handful of Kold Kutters in the soles... You can get them as short as 3/8", that should be safe for even little boots.

Raindaddy35 , doing a quick Goole search turnded up Walmart and a website called Mountain Baby as possible sources for toddler cleats. I'm not sure if either of these will have the size your looking for to fit your son.

www.mountainbaby.com  May this information be of help to you or others with young children .

Last year I screwed some screws in a piece of wood and taped them to my daughter's boots. Worked awesome and didn't need to worry about the cleats falling off all day.

I used some small twist-link chain I had lying around with some thin elastic cord to make some mini-yak trax for my son last year. Basically just two pieces of chain, one under the ball and one under the heel, run the cord through the ends and zip-tie it in place so it doesn't slide around.  Worked great out on glare ice last year.
