Offloading a gun on public lake outside of any hunting season and without a proper hunting license is not only illegal but could be obviously deadly like in this case. I can't believe the guy survived a shot in the chest from a muzzle loader.

Exactly. His only errors were outfitting his spud improperly and using the wrong end of it. :)

Darwin's theory in action. I once had a guy ride his four wheeler out to the middle of the lake and ask me how thick the ice was. ::) At least he stopped a reasonable distance from me.
