Wind hurt the ice at Muddy creek a little today. Some open water at the rescue equipment, also at old bridge. Also by the Church is completely open. Looks like Propogation is freezing similiar to Muddy Creek.

Behind the church or muddy creek is pretty good. I’m not sure if the ice is good though.

Icerfish , I believe the area they speak of is on Muddy Creek branch from the last boat launch on 528 up  to the area where you turn down into the 528 bridge launch road , but instead of going down to the launch , you make a left and follow it up the branch to a small parking lot . It's about a 500 yard stretch of the Muddy Creek branch where you'll see most of the fisherman . ALWAYS stay away from the bridge peers ! The peers warm up and cause thin ice . Open water was just reported near the shore in some areas . Be careful .

I'm hoping to be there weekend also . If ya see an old green Eureka ice tent , that'll be my daughter and myself . Not sure where to hit yet . I have to make sure I get her into some fish since it'll be her first time . You know kids . If they get bored , they want to go home . Maybe I'll let her take her phone just in case ? LOL !

UPDATE FOR WEEKEND : Just ordered a new Eskimo Quickfish 5 i . It should be here by Thursday . So that green tent will now be a Red Eskimo !

I'm going to ask a stupid question but is there a map with all of the nicknames that everybody refers to areas on this lake?  I've fished there a handful of times usually from Porters Cove or the 528 launch but I hear a lot of people talking a lot of places and I just have no clue where they are.

What about the swim beach? Can you get back there or is it closed in the winter? Any good fishing there?

The DCNR map will show you most of the bays by name. It's not going to show you three maples, Dutch Hollow, the cabins, or most of 1MO's favorite spots.  ;D

stanley KK used to call me up befo he passed to come clean out the bass so he could concentrtate on perch jerkin. its sand to rock in middle and on far end is a gentle sloping weedy  ;) point that goes for a 100 yds before dropping into deep water.the ice is thick out in the deep so you could fish new water fo days
