I'm hoping the wind dies down enough for it to cap Tuesday night.  If it does, I'm hoping to walking on it by mid next week...  Muddycreek at least... Wishful thinking never hurts!

Some tail end of bays are capped. Like 2 / 4 ft of water.  That's about it. A week in optimal conditions 2 -3 weeks if not and we'll be on it.

Definitely, it's been dead calm here all day.  I know I'll be out all this week waterfowling, and setting traplines  I'm thinking if all works out and remains dead calm we have a legit chance of being on a few of the more shallow bays come this weekend.   Especially with the single digit days.  That my just be what's needed to finish it. I know I got a report of a local stocked lake that was supposedly all skimed this morning.  Hopefully I'll be able to at least hit that.  I'm seeing a cabelas trip in the near future.  Still need to pick up a few jigs, plan on getting a few new rods to try out, and am really contemplating picking up the Yukon x thermal deluxe they have for this year.  Kinda fell in love with it sitting in there

Ducksnbucks,  a lot of good sale at Gander Mountain  Robinson township. I bought two Marcum LX-5I for 250.00 each. Striker bibs for 80.00. They had a lot of rods, key word had. We'll be on Muddy creek soon, last year the gills and crappie where ferocious the times I went. Where ready.

Might have to give them a call and take a trip down there.  That's a killing for the LX-5I.  Might have to try and swindle you in to selling me one for that price haha.  Last time I was in a gander it was closing everything was 80% off, but they wouldn't sell me any rods, reels, combos, or electronic's even though it said everything (all items in store) 80% off.  After that it just turned my nose on gander, and never have been in one since.

Drove to porters cove tonight  it was dark so I couldn't see how much was frozen but someone broke the ice at the launch  the chunks that were broken were about an inch thick. Won't be long now

was at gander today still had about 30 rod combos left, still a lot of jigs and ice spoons and few misc ice fishing items, plastic sleds and various types of sled runners, no more flashers tho. I picked up a few tungsten jigs and a life jacket for my boy.

LA isn't even worth checking again till Saturday.  Stopped at upper 528 on the way home from duck hunting today.   With waders on I took 2 steps out on to the ice stood there half a second and went through. Didn't bother to bend down and see how thick it was after that.  Planning LA to be a bust this weekend, and hopefully getting on a stocked pond instead.

Hi everyone! I'm new to Ice Shanty, not new to ice fishing, though! You'll see me out on the ice usually with my husband coonhunter34. Just want to give a shout out to all my fellow lady friends who ice fish, too! Girls can do it too, and land bigger fish most of the time!  ;)   Happy ice fishing, everyone!

Hoping to hop on the ice maybe tomorrow or Tuesday. Have zero bait, need to get the minnow traps in the water I guess since I can't find any Minnies.  Good thing I mainly jig a killer plastic I found last year.  I was kinda thinking that the rain had very little effect on the ice.  Since it just refroze this morning.  Made everything a nice ice rink.  If anyone's going out this week get in touch maybe we can hook up in the am before. Head off to work.
