Southwest Iowa
« on: Mar 07, 2014, 09:02 AM »
I am thinking after Saturday I am throwing in the towel.  Not seeing lows below 30 in the 10 day and chances of rain. 60 on Sunday 70 on Monday rain on Tuesday. Planing on being on the ice at 5:30 am and giving it my all.  My wife has been waiting for the day since November.

We'll be in the boat very soon tossing those 1/32 oz. jigs.

I think we may be done here now after the temperature we had today. I am ready at this point. It's been a long season on the ice and a lot of fun this year. Made some new friends and hope to fish with them this spring and summer.

Sounds like a good end to the season.  I'm going to go out tomorrow after work and that will probably wrap up my iowa hard water fishing for the year.   Going to Lake Winnipeg on the 22nd for a week, so I'm eally getting pumped about that.

Will do Vic.  Just hoping I have pictures to post!  Today was definately my last day on the ice down here.   Made it out for about an hour, but didnt venture out too far.  Still about 9 " of ice, but the top 5-6" were really bad.  I had my spikes, was wearing light clothes and the weather was warm, so I wasn't too worried, but then I started thinking about my Marcum going down with me!   That's what made me pack it up.  This is definately a sickness!   Oh well,  had a great year, met a bunch of really nice folks and have been eating fish at least once a week since December.  Life is good!
