Hey great picture, Woke up this morning to see the first sheet of ice on Storm Lake, it will probably be gone in a couple days though, it is supposed to heat up, still good to see some ice.

Looks like I mite be setting a tip up or 2 in the SHALLOWS on saturday. Hopefully 2-3 solid inches by then..

went out today and was standing on 1 inch of ice, it held! hopefully make another half to one inch tonight, thats enough for me, i'll be out tomorrow if thats the case.

Monday December 5th or Tuesday the 6th will be my first trip out 10 day forecast is preachin cold wearther and im all ears!!!!  Looks like first ice trip will be 10-11 days earlier than last year...........   Should be gettin on the big lakes round 15-20th this yr hopefully?

Finally ... we've got a good shot at getting on some ice in the next few days.  Gonna have to go check out some ponds this weekend!

I am still planning a trip up to Morse or Cornelia, even though the ice is only 2" thick up there right now (grrrr....stupid snow!).  Hopefully there will be something closer to fish around here....maybe even some coves on Big Creek or Lost Lake (even though they would be a total ZOO if they freeze good enough to fish).  I will be ice fishing somewhere most of the day saturday!!!!

hey goody if i was you i would go to elm lake.....which is about one mile south of lake cornelia....i am from eagle grove which is about fifteen minutes away and last year i only got three perch out of lake cornelia....they were all small......we got a few dozen 10 inch perch from elm lake in two days and it's very shallow so it's impossible to lose a fish
