Spring Lake near Savannah,IL
« on: Feb 25, 2005, 10:36 PM »
On Tuesday I was in the parking lot in street clothes. The shoreline was real good. There were 5 vehicles parked. It appearred all were at the deep hole as I couldn't see anyone.
Is the ice safe enough to run an ATV out to the deep hole?
I saw an ATV in the back of one of the trucks parked. My buddy Scout and I were going to head out there tommorrow.Any fishing and ice report would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Mohawk Al

I don't think I'd chance it with a four wheeler. I know its a good hike out there, but the way the weathers been that ice could be honeycombed like crazy. Its all ways better to be safe than sorry right? I know we tried to get onto one of the spots we frequent last weekend and couldn't. The ice just kept breaking away.
Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting "............Holy crap.............what a ride!"
