Banana Dyke & Erie Metropark Marina
« on: Mar 12, 2008, 07:51 AM »
Banana Dyke and Eire Metro still have 8"ice as of yesterday. I heard of good perch and gill catches from Eriemetro and perch at the Dyke. Last ice down here can be really good sometimes.

32481 West Jefferson, Brownstown. There is access to the marina thru the metro park, although i dont think launch is open to public boating? may be wrong. $4 access one day, or $20 buys a year pass to any metropark.

Fished BanaDyke 2 weeks ago.  Caught 3 jumbo's and dozen "Fish Sticks".  Still recovering from the blisters on my feet from the long walk.
When the bass season is over, there's nothing better than ice fishing!

The launch is aways open-ice is the only factor that my stop you. They had @ least one dock in last Fri-maybee more now that the threat of ice has diminished. If you launch at Erie you could cruise down to the Banana buy boat and hop onto the ice-saves on shoe leather! Some days the big schools of jumbos are there and time of day- morning or afternoon bite. This time of year the perch come in off the big water to hide under the ice and feed before spawning. If you are there on the right day and time, game on!
