I need a hand if there is anyone out there who can help me-
I am trying to find someplace to order a smelt hook online- I think they are also referred to as a "Norwegian Pike hook" or "Swedish Hook". They are shaped like 3/4's of a triangle. I cannot find anywhere online that stocks these, I have seached for about a week now, and they are not carried by any stores in my area either.
Can anyone help me out?!?! I have a tournament coming up and I need them! Thank you very much for your time- Nodakbassmaster

They are for a friend who is set in his ways. He is very convinced that they are the best thing since sliced bread, and I have been trying to find them for about a week or so now. I also would like to have some to try as i am new to the targeting northern through the ice. I am a walleye man predominatly.

I fish for eye's in Belle Fourche, SD. It's my favorite lake around here for them summer and winter- although I enjoy on the ice more!

Your friend must not want to release any northern. Wisconsin did a study on these vs. trebles a few years back, and norwegian pike hooks have a HUGE mortality rate. I would strongly urge you and your friend to not use them. I believe they are not legal to use in Wisconsin.

I have a question. When fishing a dead smelt on a quick strike rig, is it better to leave it on the bottom, or to suspend it? Also, If you suspend it, does it have to be horizontal, or is it OK if it's vertical- front hook in the head, and 2nd hook by the dorsel fin, with the bait hanging head down?
Thanks in advance.

Must be horizontal
two ft off bottom usually best. adjust on they day or lake or spot fishing
Quick strike rigs hook anything that hits. I love them 8)
