It's sand and fine pebble up to 1/4 inch. They must have been blown off shore and rolled down the channel. There is much less of this staff even right below Gardiner Dam.
. Yeah if you fish deifenbaker a lot your gonna have to learn to touch up your blades. Lack of snow+Lots of sand + heavy winds = dull blades.
Fishing wasn't very good lately. I found one walleye and some aggressive perch. Well, it's time to find other reasons to keep going to lake, like putting hand auger-sharpening technique to test. Last time I dull my blades was in 2013 when I drilled into 0 depth of water.
Hi Flyboy,It would be a good exercise to walk to your spot, ~2/3 km off shore.
I will try your spot next time. It may just be flyboy yourself and friend ~10 days ago that my friend took a burbot from.
Good luck Flyboy. Weather seems fine this weekend.
Weather is not too bad. Cal and I had a prety good day today. I got my first jumbo perch (12" long) and first Burbot (over 7lb) in my life. I like to meet you on ice some day.
the fishing geeks said deifenbaker has been unreal for trout this year and that the nets must have broke again or released more trout again. that being said i dont have any good info on where these nets are and where the rainbows are
