Tried a new spot tonight I marked while duck hunting late Dec. A big green weed clump in an otherwise weed killed barren lake bottom. Love the Navionics phone app!!
Found the spot on third hole and green weeds were still there!
And so we’re the fish! Walleye were smaller, just 1 keeper but the gills were bigger! 6 eyes, about 20 good gills and a dozen crappies. Kept just a couple for dinner.
Ice held up great! A bit windy but was all tightened back up as I walked off after dark.
