Awesome fish, was that caught locally? Only asking because I usually see that much contrast and defined colors fishing up north, nice red fins and a deep green underneath the nice bright white spots. Feel like connecticut pike almost look like their non-native ;) Also that lower pic is definitely something new that I've seen to counter-spot-burning techniques, I like it. Haven't seen that much black sharpie this side of a declassified C.I.A. document.
A smart person would watch the few that ventured to the ice sheet, the daring would follow in their boot prints, but the pioneers would already be heading to where they belong.

I've noticed that too.  They are all either grey or brown/maroon.  Never get a green one. ???

What’s most impressive about this catch is how important a quick, gentle release was to Brian. He never panicked or got overcome w/ how special this fish was and he was all business. Catch, photo, release.

Nice job getting her back in quickly Brian; good to have met you as well. Good work like that ensures our kids will be able to catch giants in the years to come.
