What brand of auger? I took a set to a local sharpener in Boz. a few years ago, ruined them. He did refund my $ and said normally he does not sharpen auger blades.

A guy I know just sharpens with a really fine file, but he said you just have to watch the bevels

I have one of those Vintage Jiffys and have sharpened my own blades for years. It too still runs like a champ and cuts with the best. I'd be willing to sharpen your blades for you or show you how. Let me know if your interested.

In Great Falls there is a guy on 10th st North and about 6th ave that does an excellent job.  Has done my jiffy STX blades with no problem.  He is cheap as well.  $6.00, or will trade for a mess of perch.

I also have a very old jiffy. I use a large file and make sure to keep the bottom flat and run the file across the face of the blade to keep them straight. It seems to work pretty good. I love those old augers, I picked mine up at a garage sale three years ago for $5 and it's never had a problem yet.

Good luck,

I mailed in a set of strikmaster blades a couple years ago to 307, they came back duller then when I mailed them in. I was also warned about that too. I called them on it and they really did not care. When you get them back be sure to try them out before making a long trip to ice. Have a good day.

Icejigs:

It would be interesting to hear from others who've tried these folks.  I see that they advertise on this website.  I'm going to hold off sending mine unless I hear more favorable reviews.

Thanks,
eyewinder ???
