Could someone recommend several jigs that might work for Lakers? Thanks

White Tube Jig 1/4, 1/2, 3/8oz & Crippled Herring! 1/4, 1/2, 1/6oz are my Favorites
Also taken them on Bucktail Jigs and Small Perch Jigs
others to try Swedish Pimples, Rapla Swim Baits, Airplane Jigs

Thanks for the response .. when jigging which technique works best for you? do i really move the jig or should i let it sit a bit? does the strike come on the movement or when it is sitting...sorry about the multitude of questions but I've not had much luck in my pursuit...t

Lots of times the strike comes on the fall

Experiment with your jigging movements.... I usually Jig it up then let it fall, when you feel the weight of lure after the fall jig it again. If you use a vexilar you can see when the fish is there and try more subtle approachs when fish isn't commiting. The standard lift fall, w/o a vex has taken lots of fish for me... Speed it up slow it down, stop it and hold ect ect... I find most strikes are on the fall

ive had great success with the larger jigs (2 - 4 OZ.) , the airplanes, and bucktails work good, always tip my jigs with 3" back half of smelt or sucker,

I find Mister Twister white curly tailed grubs on a 1/2 oz. jig head work the best.

try a swedish pimple tipped with a couple meal worms.

Been thinking today while on the ice about my previous post. The more I think about laker strikes while jigging; it seems that most of the strikes come just before you pull back up on the jig. I think the fish are keying in on the spot where the jig stops (Reaches the end of the line) and hit it just as it trys to "Get away".... Hope that makes sense....
Was thinking that the fish are grabbing it on the fall and when I go to jig it back up it hooks em. The more I thought about it, the more It seems as though I actually feel the lure come to rest....Go to jig it back up and WHAMO...

I did pick up some tubes tonight and rigged them as illustrated on your website, thanks. Any one have a preference in line? I was wondering if Flurocarbon is the way to go, I use it as leader material on my tip ups but not sure how it will react with the cold ( plus the stuff is tough to see with my eyes getting older). Any advice when it comes to what pd test? I dont have a Vex yet I guess that is my next expense ( love this game!)

I tend to catch more lakers on the white with pink colors. I have always had extra luck using a white glow jig with either pink or blood trail red in with it. Glow green is a good color as well. As for leader i don't use it. No need to use leader or a swivel unless your fishing in stuff with heavy structure or snags. My line does tend to get twisted a bit but i just take it out of the hole and let it untwist itself. I use a new humminbird ice-55 flasher and that has increased my catches considerably. Hope this helps and tight lines!!

My buddy hammers the trout with castmasters. Gets down deep quick and the usual jigging technique mentioned earlier works well.

Do jiggers and buckshot jigs. Tipped with worms, fishheads or live wigglers.

I use Kastmasters (1 oz gold) with a meat hook, tipped with either sucker meat or smelt or red fin shiners.
My wife uses 1 oz bucktails tipped with sucker meat. She believes the prettier the bucktail the more fish it will catch.
Just keep pounding the bottom.
