For my IPhone the Navionics Boating USA app is $10 and has one year's worth of updates. That's what I needed to know (one and done).
I bought that but then changed phones. Not happy I have no way to reload it on my phone. Should have a way to do that.
Don't see them in my navionics folder. Not a huge deal, I'll be able to find the spots again, just a bit of a hassle and lost confidence. Guess I'll have to back up the GPS #'s on my computer after each trip.
Frizzen frazzen rat elbowsI spent the money on the Navionics app today. The damn thing doesn't even have updated lake depth maps the state provides free!! From what I can tell, Navionics is using state provided contours dating back 10 years or more!
Its a shame you can't export them as a kml or gpx format like you can with darn near everything else....or bulk import waypoints.
Markers/waypoints, tracks and routes that are created within the Navionics app are all stored in the memory of the device. This data can also be backed up on the Navionics server by turning ON the Sync My Data setting under the app Menu > Settings.
Who's had the Navionics app on their phone over a year? Do you lose any saved data once your "subscription" runs out? Or is that just for data updates?
KirtH, you seem to be a Navionics rep.The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission provides contour maps of around 100 water bodies on their website. Here's the link to the ones available just around my home town: http://outdoornebraska.ne.gov/Fishing/programs/lakemapping/district5.aspNotable absences/old maps on the Navionics app just in District 5 include: Holmes and Bowling lakes in Lincoln proper. These are part of the Urban Fisheries program, and are very busy lakes, both during hardwater season and otherwise. Holmes lake was drained and renovated in 2005. Bowling lake was done a few years after that. You don't even HAVE a contour map for Holmes, and the one for Bowling lake is easily a decade old.;Hedgefield WMA renovated six years ago.;Yankee Hill WMA renovated seven or eight years ago;Burchard Lake, a trophy bass lake; Lake Wanahoo, built five or six years ago, open to the public for two or three years already. Home of massive northerns pike, crappie and walleye;Louisville SRA lakes 2 and 3;There are a number of others, but you should get the gist. Update the information for your customers, please. The link I provided above has other links to follow to get the full list of mapped lakes throughout the state, rather than just around District 5.
