A friend of mine from work reported two feet of ice in Minocqua on opening day of fishing season, can't imagine setting up tip ups for walleye and jigging for gills on opening weekend.

I wish I live near you since I love the cold and snow.  Heck it could snow every day of the year and I'd be a very happy camper.

The ice is almost out on the big lakes here, the main sheets of ice are really moving. I think sometime tomorrow all the lakes here will be ice free.

Yup :o Woke up sunday morning to 3 inches of fresh snow. According to the weather channel Negaunee Mi was the coldest spot on the lower 48. 12 miles away. Woke up to 22 degrees this morning. Won't be much of a garden this year. Supposed to be in the 70's later this week. I can dig down about a foot and a half and the ground is still froze. Rivers are still so swollen that fishing is no good. Lakes have not turned over yet and looks like it will be awhile. Work is slow because load limits are still on because of the frost still in ground and it looks like June before they come off. Weird weather for sure.  Steve

Definitely strange I live in south east corner of New York State we had a frost warning last night. I work at a super market had to bring part of the outside floral display inside and cover the rest with plastic sheeting to protect.

Frost took out All the 'maters.  S'posed to be safe to plant out by Memorial day.  Not this year.  Switched from A/C to heat 4 times already.

Heat back on here today....48 this am, with heavy rain,  rain fcast for another week, after 2 solid weeks of it, 15" of wet snow that snapped hundreds of trees and power lines; and serious flooding. Biggest weekend for the campgrounds; half are flooded out. There's no end to this bull****.

It certainly has been a weird spring so far ,while Raquettedacker lives up by the Adirondack mountains in northern NY. I'm down in the southeast corner of the state.(mid Hudson river valley) I had highs in the sixties last week close to ninety the last few days.
