Spring has been cancelled
« on: May 02, 2013, 11:43 AM »
Until further notice spring has been cancelled in northern WI.
I took these picture a few hours ago May 2nd. I measured 11 inches of snow all from last night. 4 days ago all the snow was finally gone.

I thought we were done with winter also, I took all the snow plows off at work 2 days ago. I should have known better I guess. I am 56 and never remember this much snow in May.

The last 3 days here in SW Ontario have been in the high 70's and the trees have gone from brown to green almost overnight.

Still snowing here in Chippewa Falls.  Erik, if it is still snowing by you, you must have close to 20 inches.

11"?? HA!  We only received 15 1/2" snow here in Rochester yesterday, , and 3" more last night. Gee, we were on the Weather Channel all day long. Mike Seidel traveled here and they were broadcasting live. Lotsa ice. 33 degrees right now. No Fishing opener, no Spring. Bring it on on. Let's have another foot or so. Screw it. Just love it.

Do ya s'pose, over the course of the upcoming week, you could send a bit of that global warming this way ?"

Ah, the Omega shaped jet stream. Not so good for you guys on the western side of it, very good for us in the middle of it (until we dry out and wild fires take over).

No rain last week, no rain this week. My tan is coming along though.

I have friends that live in Europe and they are having a freaky spring in areas over there too.  Global Warming???? I guess with the ice caps melting the waters got to go someplace!

You guys can keep that stuff on that side of the BIG lake.

My turkey season starts on Monday. I would rather fight skeeters than snow flakes, anyday

Jeez Reb, I hadn't heard anything about your recent photo-shoot trip to Mystery, Alaska.  Where did you really get that beautiful shot of winter nature ?   :woot:

Not to worry, it'll melt soon. Though we may not be so lucky next year.  Four years ago this, ah,... well, on second thought, best have a look.

I had suspicions of that. I think it's starting right here and now.  Ya think I should put up a marker to that effect, like Itasca State Park, where the Mississippi starts?  ;)2

I live in Barron County (Wis.) and I measured 17 inches of level snow in my driveway from our latest spring storm on May 2.  Today is the 5th and I still have some snow on my roof and in my yard, despite a high temperature of 65F today.   :o

It is May 9th and we still have about 6 inches of snow on the ground where it slid off the steel shop roof, and the lakes over 500 acres are still locked up with ice. Next 4 days lows in the 20's(f)
