For those with deep pockets $25,000us you can get a snobear mobile shack check it out at www.snobearind.com  it pretty cool but kinda pricey unless you can write it off.

That was easy enough. Their are some dandy shanties on here. I would like to see more. The extent that we go through, I don't know if it's comfort, Or attention personally for me it's both. Her's a picture of my cousin and son inside my fishontario shanty

i think its for comfort personally if you have it in high wind or sub 0 weather its good and on nice days you can wander when the bite is slow and keep your stuff safe and dry inside ice fishing is a social sport and a cool or odd shanty is a good ice breaker to meet new people

Boy!  Am I jealous!!!  I hope ou guys knowand appreciate how lucky you are to be able to put these shantys on the ice!!

Where I'm from (L.I., NY) -- fish in Westchester, Putnam Counties, there is NO SUCH THING as a place you can put a shanty on the ice.  In fact, on the reservoirs we fish, it's even illegal to bring a portable out on the ice (since 9/11).  Not to mention a MOTORIZED VEHICLE!!!  And get this --- NO POWER ICE AUGERS!!!!   New York is ONE TOUGH STATE!!!

Congrats on all these great home built shantys ----  maybe I'll move to Minnesota!

fozsey nice tri-plex ,love my twin!!!

I almost bought a twin, but decided on the triple for the extra room. Its perfect for 2. I have had a few issues, but none too serious. The pole bearings break once in a while and I had one window break. The weird thing was Frabill told me that extreme temps are the cause of the windows breaking, but last year I was out in -20 a lot and no problems. This year I was never out below 10. Take care of them. JIC you are wondering they're $20 a window and you have to unstitch and resew them back in yourself. I thought it would look kind of funny with a piece of plywood covering it.  ;D

Here's a picture of my fishontario style shanty. Modified it a bit to fit my needs.(Image removed from quote.) (Image removed from quote.)

I am going to build one of these soon. Would a black tarp or something be better to see down the hole and keep you warmer. I love the antlers on there. :D ;)
YOu can only get skunked so many times before you have to shower, Peeeeuuuuw

It would help I'm sure. I've never tried mine without heater. I run a little camp stove off of propane in mine. We were fishing in -15 and had the shanty up to 60. In about 30 we get it up to 82 degrees. In the wind the tarp is alittle noisey, but tollerable. So I"m looking into getting some bulk ice armor  to replace the tarp( kinda like the frabill's).I love this thing had in some 30 mile per hour winds and it didn't move. This one here is a full 4x8' .

Fish Trapr , how about sending those plans to me or telling me where to get them. Looks like a nice set-up! How does it hold up with the wind , ok? Does it fold up when moving?
