Alger 300.00, x67c 289.00 shanty's 230.00 x2 ,under water cam 300.00,heater 70.00 fishing poles 60.00 jigs 40.00, tipups 50.00, ice armor suit 320.00, boots 100.00 gloves 30.00 total 1989.00 +++++ , this is over many years, maybe i should not have added it up, lol Just cant let the wife see this $:-\$

Im not going to give a firm number here, so my wife will never be able to find it, but I can add 4 items and get over $2,000, so over the years I know the number would be way higher

Seems like a lot, but probably way less than most. My 3 big items would be shack-300, 10 year old Vex-300, and gas auger, also about 300. Plus 85 for the Lazer hand auger I just bought. My clothes, boots, and heater all do double duty for hunting and general work clothes. A handful of Schooley and homemade rods and reels. I've got two "store bought" rods, a JM spring bobber pole, and an Ugly Stik lite. My spinning reels are also open water reels.

Just add up the cost of the atv, trailer to carry the atv and truck to pull the trailer. It all equals expensive fish for dinner.

Somewhere between "alot" and "not enough"!
If you exclude buying bait then it would be roughly $700-$800 over the past 8-10 years.
I couldn't even begin to figure how much bait I've used in that timeframe.

$200+ in misc stuff,
$500 sno suit,
$200 Vex FL8 $125+ultra pak $75,
$132 Showdown
$75 racks/holders for the atv
$75 tire chains for the atv
= $2832 and I am guessing, it's probley more.

+ $26 in bait per season.

Already had the atv before I started ice fishing. but that would be another $5000 back in 94'

$200-300- Other: Creepers, skimmers, hand auger, fishing license, propane for stove, stove, lanterns, lights for ranger, the list never ends!

over the last couple years, we have spent Several thousands in gear alone.
and when my back pooched out on me a couple of years ago, we had to buy a new four wheeler, (which we only use for ice fishing) and a trailer. and then we went out last winter and bought a big new clam which does not fit on the trailer very well with the wheeler. so we had to buy a new chevy long bed this year, just to haul the ice fishing gear. the Mrs keeps telling me her next husband is gonna be a real happy fella.

Probably $3000 in equipment, counting hardside and portable shack, vex, and auger. Not too bad for the most fun I can have when it's cold outside!
