I own 6 Shimano's and 5 Pflueger Presidents......but I think I'll save the $200.00 for ONE reel and put it in the bank..... ;D

I gotta get some of these. Maybe the Ci4 is smooth as a prom queen's thighs though.  ;)
It seems to go from zero to hero all some have to do is lie.

I should clarify there are (2) President's that are the same size; mine are the 6720 Presidents...the regular Presidents have one more bearing, and  the "toggle" type wood handle, which I don't like, mine has the "thumbprint" gray handle knob, which in my opinion is much better balanced when turning than the toggle type...which some of the Shimano's have gone to. Mine weighs in at a mere 6.4 oz...with a good spin of 90 yds 4lb on 'er. ;D

what models of the shimano do you have exactly? I'm not gonna lie I've played with the president and they are a smooth reel but have never owned one. Guess I will never know exaxtly cause I'm a shimano guy ;D. I did notice that fleet farm had the CI4 on sale for $160, still a heavy price but you get what you pay for when it comes to shimanos.

i use Shimano Stradics all summer on all spinning rods, and I use one on the ice on one of my walleye rods. they are great reel, super smooth and tuff

Sahara and Sedona's. You might want to give some Tica's a try.

I've ran two generations of Sustain 1000's and three generations of Stradic 1000's on the ice.  I'm not a fan of EVA knobs so the CI4 is not on my list.

I can't compare a Stradic to a President becuase the Stradic is too much of a reel.  I'll say a Sahara is closer to a President.

I think the Sahara and President are pretty close...and I envy you the Stradic, wish my budget would allow it!  :'(

I messed around with the Ticas @ gander mtn. And I was not impressed, at all! I think they are comparable to the shimano sedonas which I do have and I hardly use that reel now, I'll pawn it off to the kids or wife this season. ;D

Most of my reels are double duty for open water...so they aren't just dedicated ice fishing reels.
