windchill may not be able to cause  water to freeze quicker this is a fact ,however wind  can cause the surface water to cool quicker,it can also cause  heat loss and speed hypertherma and frost bite, often there is merit in even a simple question......
Ok ...I'll bite...how does wind chill cause Hyperthermia?

hyperthermia
–noun
1. abnormally high fever.
2.  treatment of disease by the induction of fever, as by the injection of foreign protein or the application of heat.

Don't make me give a Physics lesson ::)

For the record...Mr.Seaguar has been a member since 2002....longer than me. He's probably sittin' back grinnin' over this thread.

my apologizes  i meny hypothermia, not hard to admit  when one  makes a mistake  :)  anyways  windchill  can and  dose cool the  human  body ..  also  wind  can lower  water temptures  threw   the evaparation factor no it  won't  cause   water to freeze   until  it  hits  32  degrees   but  wind   blowing across  a lake  will cause that lake  to cool more rapidly  then  no  wind.

anyways  the point that some where tring to make  is this , not  everyone  has  been here  since  2003  and  the  idea  of a fishing site  is to share information and  to  be able  to ask  questions, besides  whats  your  favorite  bourbon. many people  will ask  what line  and  what  auger, so what????

One thing I would like to say is this. Some of the old timers pick on "newbies" for asking the same questions over and over again. Those same old timers give the same old foolish answer to the same old foolish question. Pot calling the kettle black IMO.

I'd have to say that most of the "old timers" I know don't post much any more.  No one's picking on a "newbie" here. I'm pretty sure this thread was started to bust our chops a bit. A big part of what makes this forum fun.

I think that, in general, everyone helps answer the "same old" questions in a pretty friendly fashion around here.

With the number of members we have, we can expect all types...jokers, super serious, arrogant, self righteous, easy going, quiet, jerks, debaters, know-it-alls,  self promoters, pot stirrers, intelligent, wannabes, politicians.....need I go on?

Point is, we still have a pretty good site here.

And......WD/40 works great...on squeaky hinges. I have no first hand knowledge regarding Preparation H.

I hate it when I miss this thread for 5 pages every year....

I haven't read a page and I can tell you what has been said,

It used to have fish oil but it doesn't any more.....

Why would anyone want to put that in the water it's all solvents, followed by a list of the ingredients..

Then a post saying snowmobiles and boats put more pollution in the water..( I posted that one year I believe, and it started a heated argument)

then a post with someone saying they used it and caught fish left and right.

then RG usually chimes in a few times and the thread ends up in the grumpy old men shanty or deleted...

Am I close ?

What was the thread I started last year we had fun with down there in the grumpy cellar ?

I can't remember it, I think was just a thread where we could pick on all the threads that have 10 different points of view.. I'm gonna go look and bump it.
