Title: Tip Up Line
Post by: GentleBen on Feb 11, 2003, 04:39 AM
What are your favorite tip up line for northern ?  I have tried several and most are too stiff in cold weather with too much memory. I have found that H T Enterprises line dacron works great but the 30# test has no strength. I'm now using Gudebrod dacron teflon coated 30# test and I think its the best I've used, its strong and no memory and no problems so far. Any other suggestions would be appreciated....GB

I don't fish for northern's here in MASS., but a friend of mine gave me a good idea. I set all my tipups with Spiderwire. So far ...so good. No curly line because it ha no memory, and line diameter is much less than monofilament. There are a few companies making this type of line and I have heard good things about Flourocarbon line also.
Good Luck !
