First time poster - thanks for the help!

Not sure where the time went, but I have not fished through the ice for 20+ years.  I have many great memories of fishing across from Keuka college with my dad, days where he would tell me to actually stop racing to tipups since we would have too many perch to clean!  My dad has since passed, but I'm hoping to give it another try again with my son.  I just wondered if the Penn Yan branch of Keuka was frozen & still worth the 2hr trip.  Many thanks, appreciated!

The reports are that the east branch is frozen to the the bluff and people are fishing the more northern ice.  There is supposed to be some wind this weekend so hopefully the ice has enough bulk to withstand it.

I hope the west branch freezes this winter. Good laker water on that side. I remember back in 2003 there was 12 inches of ice on the west side

Thanks everyone, I was unaware of the 3-post rule for reports.  After the past week though, it would be hard to not believe the Penn Yan branch isn't frozen!

Was frozen a few weeks ago. Warm rain and wind broke it up. Had to restart. Wind wasn't helping. Could be in the negatives outside, and could still not get any ice until the wind calms down. You should be good now

Grew up in Dresden and fished Keuka when it froze with several friends. Mostly pickerel as we were young and excited about ANY fish pulled through the hole. Only fished the east branch as no car to get us around. Probably 12 at the time. Many great memories of fishing there. Wish they had invented warmer boots as that was a big reason we had to leave earlier than wanted. Stilled stayed past 2:00 so no big deal even though we wanted to stay all day. Walked about 1 mile from friends house to lake with gear (spud included) to lake. As said 12 and "stupid". Good Luck to all...............

More like young and having fun! If I decided to live on a lake, Keuka would be the place. I'll be on it this morning. If you see an old man with a Commando and Frabill grey suit drilling with a 4" Fin Bore, say hi ;D

We're headed there shortly too. If the bite is off for us it's up and over the hill to Honeoye. This is my 1st time ice fishing Keuka but we've had open water success so I can hardly wait. My wife and 4 kids think I'm about 12 still but that's not a bad thing in my opinion. If you take care of your family and you go to all of your kids events, who should care that hunting and fishing fire you up ?? Lol

Have a summer home there for over 30 years now. Wouldn't trade those memories for the world. Best place on earth.

I've been debating between going to conesus or keuka for saturday. Im leaning towards keuka but I've never fished on the ice there before. I am curious as to where the best places to park to get onto the lake are and what you can expect to catch at each location. I grew up in the area, but that was before i ever thought of fishing in the winter :)
