Title: BWCA Lake Trout
Post by: Gunflint on Jan 12, 2018, 05:44 PM
Went fishing in BWCA in northern Minnesota.

Brought Aqua-Vu camera and have some great footage. in 2 hours saw over 100 fish and caught over 15. Have 8 hours of footage - but this is just first 15 minutes unedited - great day inside the shack.

Very tough outside. snowing hard and I hauled my sled a mile across the ice in a 30 mile an hour wind, like walking on a river of snow. Finally got to the portage and walked 800 yards through the woods to the lake I was going to fish. Got there and found 8 inches of slush under 6 inches of snow. This is tough on the snowshoes and one's legs. I got blown off the lake at 12:30 and the temp was now below zero and it took another 90 minutes to slog the mile across the lake back to my truck.

Regardless, however, it was VERY worthwhile.  ;D

Here is another one, highlights of the day. I decided not to use a tip-up and put both lines inside my hut.
I put a tube jig on the left and a small minnow on the right. it is interesting to see how the fish react.
