mounting the reel on a jig rod!
« on: Nov 24, 2006, 11:13 PM »
I like to tape my reels to a cork handel jig rod. I always use hockey tape, like the kind players tape their sticks with. The tape feels smooth and warm on your hands when you grip the rod.Hockey tape is made to work on cold ice! Metal reel seats, or rings are cold and uncomfortable on a ice fishing rod!. Cut those rings off and get some hockey tape, it works great!! Comes in white or black, I like the white tape.

Do Not Use Friction Tape!!  If you don't know the difference, just use white and you will be safe.
