Hey guys,
I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on how to fix my new strikemaster lazer mag auger. I bought the auger over the summer and it had just been sitting in my basement all summer. I didn’t put any gas or anything in until this weekend before I went out.
As I was unloading the auger, I wasn’t paying attention and laid the auger down on the wrong side. Gas spilled and leaked out of the fuel tank. I tried to start it after wiping it down, but the auger wouldn’t start. I laid the head of the auger inside a heated pop-up tent all day, but again it would not start.
Do you think the sparkplugs got gas on them? Do I need to buy new sparkplugs? Any suggestions on fixing this? I am kinda worried since this is a brand new auger and I no longer have the receipt.
Thanks for your help!

I have SM Laz Mag too... HOWEVER Mine is 24 years old and runs like it was new. I will tell you how I start mine.
1. Loosen Gas Cap Vent
2. Turn the cut-of switch to ON postion
3. Full CHOKE
4. Pull 1 to 3 times until it starts, now the trick!!!!!! Take off the Full CHOKE and Half CHOKE, warm up 30 seconds and a few Revs, then OFF CHOKE.
I would WAIT for another SM Laz Mag (more recent) to chime in here since mine is 24 years old. Also give ALL DETAILS (2-stroke? 4 stroke? Honda? Ect...).
Lastly the Owners Manual at www.strikemaster.com or Tech Support Phone number ???
Good Luck and I am 99.9% you done no damage to it.
God Bless

Thank you for the tips. The augers wont start when i pull the cord. I am decompressing it every pull like the manual says. I beleive it is a 2reason stroke with the solo engine.

Are you making sure to prime it before hand as well?

Maybe some gas in the air vent :-\
Does it sound like it wants to fire at all?
Otherwise;
Ask for Mike Kretchmark.
