Careful with the Negative Waves Oyler, you could cause the shift of the Cosmic energy that allows the water Molecule's to bond in Glorious Harmony, thus disrupting the formation of Early Ice and we wouldn't want that would we !!

AKhardwater, Normally I'll start counting the day after I get around to doing the Portable scrub down and pack up. Normally I'll drag my feet about it and procrastinate about doing that for 2 months, so I guess around May 1st or 6 months out !

I was sweating today! I realized I can't fish the lakeshore for trout anymore (water felt swimmable!) and I can't walk over to the deep spot. I've got firewood, I'm ready for winter!

Supposed to get around 90 today.

First week of December is pretty typical around here in So. Wisconsin for fishable ice. I'm fine with that, then during gun deer season I won't be as distracted by daydreaming about whether I could be catching fish instead of shooting deer.

This was, well, just too unreal a day. I'd better clarify "Here" when I say it's snowin' here. I'm outa Sandpoint over a dozen miles, as the crow flies and if he walks, near 18, up in the foothills at about 3000 ft.ele. in the Cabinet Mts. And I can see the Selkirk range from the high side of my lot. And that's where the snow was falling for an hour and a half, alas, with very little accumulation. A little over 6 miles away, but close enough to my back yard to claim the sighting.

So very glad to jump-start some shoutin' from Shanty Buddies.

The days start getting shorter in only 13 wake-ups.
