Tom's Loft on Okemo officially opened this past weekend!

The owner was grumpy, the beer was warm, and the food was lousy as usual. Awesome!!!

the days are getting shorter! that just gets me fired up for Ice fishing. i just don't like that inbeween time where you can't open water fish and the ice is too thin to ice fish

I went fishing in one of our high mountain lakes yesterday and got to play in some snow drifts! What a great feeling!!

Ya buddy, It's a real small, real shallow, plate shaped pond. Its 8' at the deepest 6' to 7' average. It is up on top of a knob facing north, the wind howls down the valley, but it is ringed with big pines, which helps keep the wind off the ice, but it does get it cold fast. No monsters, but lots of Hungry Pickerel ! I got my kids started there just because of the sheer number of flags ! Waitin !!

sounds just like the pond i hit early,its about 10acres and loaded with pike and perch nothing huge but the pond freezes early and theres fish there to catch.usaully freezes before turkey day.

Here's a pleasant thought, Spirit Lake, just down the road, was 33.4*f this morn.
But, warm tomorrow at 88.
And down the other road at Mosquito Ridge there is only 177" (14'9") of snow remaining. So, maybe we've got a head start.

3 months and 6 days! i can't wait, maybe if im lucky i can get on the ice sooner than Dec 1, i have a fever and the only cure is, more Ice fishing!!!!
