Title: How to prep whitefish for bait
Post by: Bushwhack Jack on Nov 08, 2017, 08:56 PM
Any body got any tips on how to catch whitefish for bait.  I caught some pretty decent sized whitefish (15-20 inches) and I think they are too big to just cut up in chunks like I normally would for herring or hooligan.  I am just wondering if there is a proper technique for cutting it up for bait?  Should I just filet the meat off the fish and use the meat or something else?  Thanks fellas.  Good luck this winter.

I just realized I made a pretty serious typo on my first post.  It sounds like I'm asking for tips on how to catch whitefish.  Just for clarification what I meant to say is how do I prep the whitefish to use for bait.  I already caught some, I just don't know how to prepare it for using it for bait.  Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.

Just cut strips out of the filet and tip your jig with it.  Experiment with what works for you and best for the jig you are using.  Wont be long now ;)
