Tip Ups which line is best for Walleyes
« on: Jan 09, 2005, 09:27 PM »
Looking for suggestion on line selection for my polar tip ups that came in mail yesterday. will be fishing 20 to 30ft of water for walleyes and occasional perch. Using jigs and minnows never fished these things but look like a blast to try just want to get started on right foot!! some say braided line other nylon???

I've always used nylon, we used to call it "squidding line" about 15 pound test. Braided line might cut your hands if they're wet. There's always that coated ice line, but to me it's too bulky.
