BOX BUTTE INFO NEEDED

Looking to see if there is any ice at box butte. We are planing a trip up that way the 12th of Jan but do not want to drive 200 miles just to find open water. Any info would help thanks. gulp
Take a kid fishing,they make great pack mules.
Put the big ones back for another day eat the small ones.

I was there on Tuesday and there was 8 inches of clear ice. Boxbutte is set in for the year!!!!!!!!!!!! goin back tomorrow.

Thanks for the info Jaym. I am so looking forward to taking a few days off work and doing a little hard water fishing. Did you have any luck. Here in wyo. it trout and eyes and I realy want to catch a few gills.

Hawk springs is a little lake up north of cheyenne near the ne wy boder. Had some good luck with the eyes there but for the most part if I am going for the eyes I go to co. and fish a lake called lonetree. You realy have to watch the weather there because the ice can change so fast. Have not been down there yet this year because of the lack of ice.

thanx. Hawksprings is about 20 mi from my house.

Have you been ice fishing there yet this season and did you get into the perch. been thinking about going over there on Tues or Wed.
