Post by: Iceassin on Jan 28, 2021, 04:38 PM: Nope. Mayfly larvae. Perch...and big gills...love "em. One hit wonders though. If you don't hook 'em on the first bite, might as well reel up and rebait. They're soft so won't stay on the hook. But like I said...they WILL hit 'em.

A barfed up baby perch is deadlier, but being partially digested, they don't stay on well

Both of these have the bootstrapping problem- you need to catch a perch to have either one, and of course, your local regulations may prohibit one or the other.

Post by: happyheber on Oct 01, 2022, 07:01 PM: my go to setup is a perch colored castmaster. so its brass with the stripes.14 to 16 in of line with the size 16 treble hook.i cut the perch meat quarter inch by 1 inch long. the size of a minnow .run ane barb through the inside of the skin to the outside. and you have all hooken power you need.then you can change the size of meat.to catch bigger perch .

works best in shallow water, but can also fish deep if you're patient. ;D
