You folks will have a great time both Friday and Saturday. Good luck in the Tournament and sure you'll make many new acquaintenances. Having lived in Clear Lake and still fish it I've learned two times that I don't fish there and thats weekends and tournaments. If its your thing you'll love it.

I love tournaments! It pushes me to be a better ice angler and if I don't place well trying to figure out what differentiated me from the winners. The competitiveness drives me to want to be better.

But also on a tournament like this it is also more fun. You have friends there you are all having a good time going against each other. You can win prizes etc. etc.

Fun well run event. Did Ok finishing 4th out of 220 teams. Was my first time ever ice fishing Clear I will be back next year for the 3rd Bonanza. ..

Congrats! It was a very tough bite. (For some of us anyway.) It was indeed a very well run tournament and I'm already planning on next year. Excellent meal at the Friday night bash also.

It was a great time, my partner must have drilled 70+ holes for us along with the 30-40 I drilled and our persistence worked well ending up in 5th place. Already looking forward to next year!

Nick u drilled to many holes lol. I think we drilled 12 maybe 15 only 4 of those gave up fish...congrats on 5th sorry to have bumped you down a notch. .

My buddy and I had a good time up until the very first hole we tried to drill. I snapped the pull cord right off the auger. Oh man my heart just sank. I wanted to throw up. We didn't even drill one hole.

One thing I have learned fishing tourneys Luke these with a partner is bring doubles of everything just in case. Last week was a good example my partner forgot his flasher and I only had 1 of mine along. Both mine went to the YBB and both our augers. Partner also had auger issues so was nice having 2 along.

My mistake. I had it started in the parking lot and noticed the rope was frayed but didn't think nothing of it. $:-\$ Still bummed but parts are ordered and there is tons of ice left.

We all have those mistakes key is to learn from them and try and reduce the chances of it happening again. I have gotten out of the habit of bringing the handle along for my auger if something were to happen I would still have the option of converting it to a hand auger.

Yeah, we had two augers on the ice with us and one more in the truck and 3 flashers too. Can't have enough extras like this when at tournaments or on trips that are a few hours from home.

First time on the lake in a couple of years and it kicked my butt on Saturday. 3/4 mile drag out on the big lake, 30 or so holes, 1 fish caught, 3/4 mile drag back, I was sweating. Good time with my wife and met some nice guys, but I was pretty discouraged.

Should have just stayed on the Little Lake which was my first thought but oh well, nothing ventured nothing gained. that's why they call it fishing, not catching.
