Pike Fishing in the Whiteshell
« on: Mar 14, 2005, 09:56 PM »
Looking forward to maybe going out to Mud Turtle, Malloy or Beauchemin on wednesday, thursday and friday. Has anyone had any luck in the Whiteshell lately? Was out 2 weeks ago and the bite wasn't terrible, but not that great neither. They really didn't have any teeth yet. Do they now?

Thanks

I am pretty sure I have caught pike in the early winter season that did not have (or not nearly as many) teeth as they do when I catch them post-spawn.

It made me do some research though. I found an article and it can be viewed at:

There is some stuff in the Habits and Habitats section. It makes sense to me now why some similar sized pike have more rows of teeth than others.

Thanks

Hey Whiteshell Guru, have you fished Beauchemin much in the past?  What species can be found in that lake?

Thanks, and welcome to the forum!
Let there be ice.
