Just looked at the calender...omigawd, it is March 2!! The ice fishing season closes on Mar. 31!!! And we still have over 30" of ice!
Only 29 more days to catch that huge laker....or that trophy pike....or that lunker walleye!! How many more days of ice fishing do any or all of you have?

Our season ends when the ice goes, or you feel unsafe walking on it here.

I'll be fishing right through april for northerns. lakers close 31st and we'll have ice through then.

Littlelady you have an ice fishing season?? You Will have to have you hubby haul the boat out unto the ice to fish. I thought you ice fished 11 1/2 months of the year. I know poor joke. Good fishing

Seems to me by the pictures I've seen you have nothing to complain about.

Our southern region ends Mar 31 Then it is trout only till may usually the weekend before labour day long weekend which is the 18 th this year. North of the 53 the season runs a another month to the end of April. Alot of times the ice is just off in time for the boating season.

5 weekends left this month then most lakes are shut down!!!
2-3 weekends after that for stocked trout lakes and the odd other open whitefish,pike lake.
times really does fly!!!!

It rained here last night too. I'm going to Sullivan county NY tomorrow. It may be the last time for me. If the weather stays in the 40's all next week then NJ is done.

my wife teaches in sullivan cty and they closed her school today it sounds like it stayed a little bit colder up there so the ice might be a little bit better there good luck

Well, I am planning a trip north just after Easter...that will likely be the end of it for me...by the end of April, I'll be fishing some open water for trout or heading to Ontario.

Here in northern Indiana we have no closed seasons in our lakes for any species. We've had some rain but I wouldn't be afraid to ice fish again as the temps have come right back down. I look for ice till at least the middle of March -- maybe the third week of March. This is much longer than normal.

some lakes in northern Maine close the 15th of this month.....most of the state is open till the 31st.....late ice made it fly by quick... $:-\$

lol march 31??? hit up the northern zone for some awesome action, probably april 14 15, some of the best ice fishing all year. hammered a bunch of walleyes last year. might consider lakers in NW manitoba later in april if the ice holds.

MeadowPikeman..you never did make it out here for the lakers!! Unfortunately for us (and fortunately for the fish) the season closes on Cold Lake
on Mar. 31. We can still fish the stocked lakes, though....and of course, be ready for the Sask. opening of stocked lakes (as in for splake!) the first weekend
of May. You know where you can find us and Casey and the canoe that weekend!!

gamefish close after this Sunday on inland lakes, but remain open on rivers and flowages. We can still go after panfish until the ice goes. I figure we should have another month of decent ice.

I just checked the ice and I can say - definately one more day tomorrow!

After that - I don't know, but I doubt it. So probably 1 - or 2 if Sunday works too.

open season year round here. I think I will be able to find ice if I want for another 20 to 30 days here.

i wish our season stayed open longer, most years we would have fishable ice for most if not all of april. heck i have seen huys ice fishing here in may when the trout season opens about 4 or 5 years ago.

I hope you won't be in a bobhouse after March 31st. They have to be removed from all waters before April 1st in New Hampshire.

Trout and walleye done in two weeks. Most others until we can't find a plank long enough to get too ice from shore. Looks like late march this year. Does stream fishing rainbow from shore count if your knee deep in snow? Starts mid April!
