Gearbox help
« on: Aug 14, 2019, 09:15 PM »
Little help here... I've searched for hours with no luck. There was a guy who built gearboxes for ice augers that I believe sold on ebay. These things were green, and built like a brick s-house. There were 2 generations, the second having a better set of handles on it. Anyone remember the name of them? They were like $80-100.

Icekickker 2. Don’t think it ever got the credit that it deserves imo. It’s an awesome gear box adapter design 2-1 gear ratio big sprocket to a smaller one with a chain so it’s easy to replace yourself. I haven’t had any issues with it the last three years using it. I’ve been able to use a old dewalt with which think is around 700inch pound torque and power a 8inch mora easily. Not sure if he sells them any more? Got mine from eBay. Good price for the quality and is less harsh on the drill imo. It is built tough all metal parts don’t see how someone could break it even with the new drills out.

You guys are awesome. I just messaged Rod, so here goes nothing!

Clam has given me the runaround for 6 months on my warranty replacement for their gearbox... I may post the entire mail thread in a different post. It's a doozy. I'm thinking about avoiding them in the future.
