Title: Cathance Lake
Post by: Calais19 on Mar 01, 2018, 07:36 AM
Has anyone been on Cathance Lake recently? Has the shore broken up at all? Are there any known bad spots to avoid?

Drive out and find out. Call Justin McCoubrey and find out. He lives right on the lake.  Sure he wouldn't mind a drinking partner

I was out last Friday and things were still good, no problem getting on and at least a foot of good ice

I live on the lake. I fished it quite a bit this week and measured 12-13” but some places are a little punky on the shores. I personally would not take my side by side out but I think walking should be fine.
PS smelts and light line are your friends 😜

Heard rumors of a shack having a little bit of a lean.

Thanks for the replies guys. We fished it Friday. Couple of nice 2.5 pounders and a few racers. About a foot of ice.

How was the ice looking around the boat launch?
