ATVs are nearly everywhere on Bitter and Waubay. Roads were icy aas all hell all weekend. The perch on bitter were hot in the northeast bay - 25 fow. Colored maggots were the ticket.
The little rain didn't hurt the ice as it froze as soon as it fell.
Hoping to make it out again on friday maybe then all next week. Looks like a great start to the ice year!!

Bitter Lake Lodge near Bronsons Bay right off Pearsons Point. I can guide you when you get here too.

It all depends on the area of which lake you are on.
Clear water - use natural colors with white maggots
Murky water- use bright colors with colored maggots.
That's my bible with the lakes in this area.

Pilkies.....glow perch with colored spikes or small tail hooked minnows. Small chubby darters are good for calling fish to your hole. Drop it and yank it like he11..when you mark fish, pull the chubby up quick..then drop a pilkie slow...they wil race up and hit them. Those chubby darters are great..and you get some bonus pike and wallleye....if you call a pike a bonus....LOL.

The pilkes with white/red spikes worked well early this week. We were successful using your advice BH. Thanks again! Lots of small eyes really make the language turn south, but u know how that goes!
