Here's a massive Saskatchewan burbot taken on December 4th on Last Mountain Lake, Saskatchewan, on a 1/4 oz Red Dot Glow PK Spoon. Gorgeous (ugly) fish. Our guy was going for walleye, but how can you complain about that much "poor man's lobster" at once?

WOW!! :o thats a monster!!!!!
-
Thats an AWESOME Burbot! State record here in NH is only 12lbs and change... Congrats on your Catch!
-
Very nice. I haven't even been on a lake where I can target them yet... but hopefully this year!!
-
@ melbs7
When you do get the chance to target them, remember that bigger isn't better when it comes to burbot and lures -- this monster hit a 1/4 oz PK Spoon. We find that all glow and light patterns work well (pearl chartreuse), and IMHO I wouldn't go heavier than 3/8th oz.
-
Some people swear by 8" baits and longer too though. Just depends on your preference really because burbot are so aggressive they'll hit just about anything.
-
So true about these fish being so aggressive. Too bad more guys throw them back, they eat a lot of laker and walleye fry.
Anyone who hates them but loves to eat them -- and who lived in the Wyoming and Utah area -- should check out the Flaming Gorge Burbot Bash. Great community event, and keeping the Gorge healthy!

Nice burbot love to get one that size. My biggest is 32 inches

Got to love the LML burbot. ;D
Way to go guys you found a real trophy / Master Angler there. @)

Ah, heck, burbot are so aggressive they'd hit a license plate with a big treble attached -- but yes, we're doing pretty well this season. The burbot love the Red Dot Glow and Firetiger Glow patterns. Fish them at night, and hold on tight -- the burbot just nail them.

Ya they are all out of the red dot and firetiger glows. How long did it take for you to recieve them when you ordered online?
-
I just ordered them 2 days ago and they need to come through customs to me in Canada so I always figure on 2-3 weeks.
Way less for you down there in America. ;)2
-
