I recently added some reel weeds under my shack as I fish for whitefish, shortly after the number of whites under my shack dropped off dramatically, while neighbouring shacks still held good numbers. I hadn't changed my chum, it has always worked. The only thing different were the weeds which are now out of the water. I believe they spook the fish as they normally roam the flats away from structure. Has any one had similar experiences, and do you figure they spook the whites.
