Just wanted to share with you guys what might be the best day of ice fishing I've ever had. The wife said I couldn't take my boy until he turned 3. Well, he turned 3 last week. We've been planning all week and finally hit a local pond yesterday. Got the hut up, some holes drilled, and very excited little boy finally set up with his new fishing pole. 30 seconds later I hear, "Daddy, I caught a fish!" I was thinking, "Whatever." Turned around, and sure enough, the kids a natural!

My 4 yr old daughter can't wait till the next trip...... don't matter what trip as long as it includes outdoors!!

Fishin' with the kiddos is the BOMB! They seem to always have fun no matter if it's playing with the ice scoop or catching a fish. The smiles are always hard to beat.

He picked out the Spiderman boots himself and is pretty proud of them.

Now, I just need to find some tiny ice cleats for them. $:-\$

That's great. Start them young and it will stay with them for life. Took my little sis when she was 6 or 7, now she is a freshman in college and makes me take her steelheading and darn near outfished me at G-town the other day. Your little boys future looks bright

Awesome!! Nothing better than getting some lines in the and watching the kids get it done. Love having my daughters on the ice on a good day when I can just sit back, give them a little help when they need it. And watch the smiles. No need or desire to ice a fish for me when I've got them out there.

Nice work. Started my boy at 2 1/2. He's four now and won't let me go without him. He sure likes to rub it in when he out fishes dad. Glad he got some fish. He'll be hooked for life

You are one lucky dude! Both your smiles say it all! My daughter just turned 10 months. From the day my wife got pregnant I've been thinking of trips with my future fishing buddy. And while There have been a lot of great pics on the shanty this year, your pics gave me the chills

I found kids cleats at Roberts Bait in Great Falls. They are the rubber stretchers, but they work well for the kids.

Those are the same cleats I have on my Muck boots, and they work great. I didn't see the kids version in the store here, so a pair is in the mail for him. Thanks for the tip.

I share your joy I take my two kids and three nephews ice fishing all the time and there is no better drug in the world, It's just plum awesome to see the excitement in childrens eyes when the hook into a fish!!
