holy jesus 66 inches didn't you drill through part of that? If so I'm saying without drilling
Shot through the whole 66".I have even marked fish trough more than 4' of ice.We get a lot of really good ice here. Here are some shots of 5' thick clear ice. If a fish were to swim by you would have no problem seeing it.
66" of clear ice for me.
Shot through 15" the other day that's probably the most I've done and it wasn't consistent, could only do it on a few places where powder insulated and had to add water. I couldn't even imagine 5 feet of clear ice! Let alone have the auger extension to drill it.I've noticed it does help to add some water to the surface of the ice when trying to shoot through usually some minnow bucket water or some from the water bottle helps.
Shot through 3 ft yesterday with the top 8 inches being cloudy ice. I always sound before I drill, I go through way less blades. The other advantage is I can locate structure without drilling a million holes saves time energy and blades.
