What date is offically "get ready for ice fishing"?

I was thinking September 1st being that I'm not a hunter.

Sept. 1st, are you nut's. My last day of 05 was the beginning of april so I would say the official day was the day after that

So I guess the answer to your question would be; "EVERY DAY" if the years is eligible as an official "get ready for ice fishing" day.

I've been getting Ice equipment all spring and summer this year. Last season was my first season on ice. Since June I've bought 3 Ice Rods, 3 Reels for the rods and about $300.00 of Ice jigs, spoons and all other sorts of lures. Next on the list is a FL-18 Genz Pack, A Fish Trap Pro or Otter and about another 300.00 worth of lures. This coming season I going to hit the ice hard.

    That's when I get ready for the next season! Here in south eastern pennsylvania you gotta be ready 'cause sometimes the ice is here and gone before ya know it!!

Thats no joke for me. I fish all year just to keep me busy till ice, Then I really start fishing.
