LX-5 Trandsucer melting
« on: Apr 09, 2022, 04:59 PM »
The bottom of the transducer on my LX5 literally has literally melted off.   The plastic is soft and pliable.   It would occasionally get stuck in the holder, but this last time it literally came apart.

Has anyone anyone experienced this?

Id post a picture, but I cant seem to be able to upload it.

Thanks

I had my marcum vx1 pro transducer epoxy ooze right off the transducer.its a reaction between that and the glue they used to glue the foam down in the holder on earlier models, maybe still.marcum replaced the ducer, that was years ago tho.i never stored it in the holder again.

Yup, seen it on at least a few Showdown transducers. But that was about 4-5 yrs ago, haven't heard of it since on them, which doesn't mean it isn't still happening.

Thank you for the links.  I emailed Marcum, and they are no longer replacing them for free.

I have a new one on order.

Keep the transducer lying on its side in the cup when storing it.
