love the plywood roof!  I did the same thing for first day of moose season   wife laughed her butt off  thought it was stupid    well it worked fantastic as it was poring   had a great ride with that on  we were wearing rain gear  but that roof made it more enjoyable

I've only had one ride on the ice.  Here in Indiana the ice normally doesn't get thick enough for anything but hand pulling.  But when i go to Houghton Lake in MI, I've been known to use this for my ride on the ice. 



Ice thickness varied from 24" to 30".  Oh yeah, it snowed 8" in the 8 hours we were out that day.  Whiteout conditions on the way back in.  Thank goodness for a GPS with Track On!!  We could go out exactly the same path we came in on.

The lake I fish on has 2 aerators on it. Late season you get ice fog really hard to see 5feet in front of you.  After winding up on the opposite side of the lake looking for my fishhouse at 5 in the morning.  I decided it was time to get a gps.  They can be a lifesaver.  Early season if theres a few unfrozen patches or late freezing areas ill go around and mark them for safety.  Dont wanna drive from 10 inches onto 5 inches.

Around here S-10s and Dakotas venture out on 9inches.  10-11 You get everyone and their brother driving on it Diesels and all towing 5,000 lb dropdowns at that.  I got a bigger rig this year so think imma make use of the 4wheeler till its a solid 11 of "good" ice.  Ya gotta love the crack bang boom and the splashing of the water outta the hole when someone drives past your shack.

Them ice road trucker guys are nuts tho 150,000lb loads on 29 inches.
