Fun baits to Try and Catch Pike On?
« on: Jan 09, 2017, 06:57 PM »
Hey guys so besides just catching pike on natural prey using tipups I'm looking to try and catch a northern on a tipup using something different that's not some sort of fish species as bait.  Hotdogs come to mind, but there has to be other things to experiment with too.  I know cut and dead bait will work, but does anyone have some sort of meaty, poultry suggestion?  Thanks

You'll need hole covers.

Yep, we use hot dogs around here. Works well. Vienna sausages might work, never tried em. Pigs feet?

Red and white golf ball works in the dark house. Rig one up with a short dropper chain and a treble hook (possibly tipped with a minnow head) and jig it or just let it hang.

Pike or bass will hit it aggressively.

Half a dog works pretty good!

Just laid on the bottom, or on a windlass.
